Elephant Man Neighborhood Theatre charlotte

I had the opportunity to see Elephant Man at the Neighborhood Theatre on Feb 26th.  This was another  show put on by Brightworks Promotion, the same people that brings to you the “One Love Festival”.   When I arrived at the venue

Mix Master David out of the ATL kept the crowd moving until the show began.  The opening act was a twin duo by the name of K-Queens out of Jamaica.  They brought a nice energy and unique style to the stage with their performance.  With a brief intermission which consisted of more music by Mix Master David, the man of the hour was up next.  The “Energy God” Elephant Man is perhaps the most manic performer in reggae and he lived up to his name that night.  With his hyper-kinetic speech and movements, his raw, hardcore dancehall sound, his heavy Jamaican slang, and his slack lyrics, he has proven to be one of the best pure dancehall artists around.  For his fans that came out to see him that night he layed down all his popular tracks that had them all singing along.  Can I put my 2 cents in here?? (Well I’m going to anyway),  the only complaint I have for the night was that I felt like the show ended so abruptly, what was dat scene??  Anyway, It was a great show and Elephant man unquestionably holds the title of artist of the moment!

Rating:     (3 1/2 elephants out of 5)
